There’s a famous Financial Crisis ‘08 anecdote depicted in Curtis Hanson’s film, Too Big to Fail (2011), in which Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson relates to Fed Chair Ben Bernanke that the latter’s predecessor, Alan Greenspan, believes “… there’s too much housing supply.” His prescription: “… [the federal government] should buy up all the vacant houses and burn them.”
