High-yielding bonds from developing countries, denominated in their home currency, have been long-time favorites of Haymaker posts. In particular, 10-year Brazilian government bonds yielding near 15% were a repeated recommendation while noting the difficulty of buying them through most U.S. custodians. (Apparently, it is possible to do so at TD Ameritrade.)
