Shares of the largest healthcare insurers were slammed yesterday in reaction to a Trump administration decision to freeze rate increases next year. Dow Jones member United Healthcare melted by 20%, causing the most venerable index to fall 0.8% on Tuesday even as the S&P and the NASDAQ both rose. Collectively, the leading healthcare insurers surrendered nearly $100 billion in market value yesterday.
