Introducing: Haymaker
Our mission is simple: provide hard-hitting content that shines a spotlight on areas of the financial markets that are being overlooked and hold those in charge accountable for deplorable policies.
Haymaker is a brand project and content channel I am excited to launch, as it will ensure messaging continuity for longtime newsletter (EVA) readers of mine but will differ tonally and speak to a larger variety of topics than what I have previously been able to cover. Finance and the markets are what I know, a fact that will be represented in the new content. That said, I intend to set my sights on culture, the arts, foreign policy, and the (mostly harmful) effects of partisanship. As the name implies, expect a “no-punches-pulled” style of opining, and enough unfiltered straight talk to have even a heavyweight pleading for the ref to mercifully call the fight.
In some ways, Haymaker picks up where my other Substack page (Bubble 3.0) leaves off, in that I intend to continue directing bareknuckle blows at the worst financial policy behavior imaginable. That’s only the start, because as we all recognize, there are many more challenges troubling the West, America, and the globe itself that deserve attention, and the occasional punch to the gut.
There’s a lot you wish was being said, problems you know need to be addressed, bad policies you’d love to push up against the ropes – Haymaker is primed for all of it. And by subscribing, you’re essentially gloving up and joining in the match – this isn’t a one-on-one fight, it’s good sense vs. countless assaults on reason… and the referee ducked out years ago. It’s on us. Grab your mouthguard, tighten your fists, and let’s throw some haymakers where they belong.
